It was a rainy night and John was alone at home, because his parents had gone away.

While he was watching TV, suddenly a black out happened. He was frightened, so he looked for a torch but he couldn’t find it. Then he phoned his parents but the phone line was dead, so he looked for his mobile phone but its battery was empty. So he sat in the dark and waited without moving for the electricity to come.

Suddenly, he saw some smoke coming through the door, then he fell unconscious, it was sleeping gas. When he woke up he was fastened on a chair in another house and he started shouting in order to see where he was. Then a man appeared. John had known him from somewhere. “Yes, of course”, he thought. “It’s Alex the kidnapper”. He had been kidnapped.

Then Alex the Kidnapper told him that he wanted to take John’s lung for one of his friends, Alexander the Hijacker. John was scared, so he tried to grab the phone, which was next to him. Finally, he caught it. Then he called the police to come and save him.

When Alex the Kidnapper learned that John had called the police, he took his gun so that he could shoot John when he heard the police coming. He said to the policemen that he would let the boy go if they gave him five million dollars. The police sergeant accepted and when he was going to give the money to him, he punched the kidnapper on the head and sent him to prison.

Then, the child went back home safe, he told his story to his parents. Things weren’t as bad as he had thought after all.

Mary woke up late that morning. When she saw the time she panicked because she was late for her work. She put on quickly her clothes, got into her car and went to her job. When she arrived there, she opened the door of the building but nobody was inside. She started shouting: “Hello! Hello! Is anybody here?”. But she got no answer. So she decided to leave from the building but by the time she was going out she heard a strange voice calling her name: “Mary! Mary!”. She couldn’t believe that. She asked: “Who is it? Answer me”! “I’m Spot, the ghost of the building. I’ve lived here for two thousand years”. Mary had heard about Spot, the ghost of the building, but she hadn’t believed that. Mary gave a gasp of surprise.

“What do you want from me”? Mary said: “You are the King of the ghosts”! “You can free me and the other ghosts from here”. “I can’t, I can’t” said Mary. “I’m not your King, I’m just a person and nothing else”. “Leave me alone please”!!

The ghost laughed: “Ha  ha ha”!! And Mary couldn’t see anything else… When she opened her eyes, she was at her home with her best friend Johanna. Johanna had taken her from the building to her home.

Mary thought it was just a dream. Mary talked to her friend Johanna about that. Suddenly they heard a knock at the door. And now they could understand. Spot was back and he wanted Mary…!!

The last time I went to the cinema was two weeks ago and I went with my friend Mary. It was the new Orlando Bloom film and I didn’t want to lose it.

When we arrived at the cinema, a crowd of people were waiting outside to get tickets. Fortunately, we arrived very early so we had the chance to speak about the film. I started to speak about Orlando Bloom. I was saying so many things about him when my friend suddenly had a look of surprise. “Did she see a ghost”? I asked myself. I turned and I saw Orlando Bloom!! I was ready to jump with joy! He came to see his film but he didn’t want anyone to recognize him. Unfortunately for him, me and my friend recognized him. We asked for an autograph and he gave us one. When he went in, we sat in the middle row. Orlando sat beside us. “There aren’t any seats left! May I seat with you”? said. “Of course you may”! I said. We can’t believe our luck! We were so close to him!

The film was great! All the people loved it and in the end of the movie they started cheering. I saw the face of Orlando and he was happy with his success in his film. He looked at us and smiled sweetly. His success was very big in the film and I was proud with him.

Orlando Bloom was born in January 1977 in Canterbury England. He has an elder sister Samantha, his mother’s name is Sonia and his father Harry passed away, when Orlando was four years old.

His first role was when Orlando was four years old! He played the monkey!! This wasn’t the best experience of Orlando, although he loved the acting so much. When Orlando was young, he was very shy and afraid and he had difficulty reading some things. This is the reason why his classmates kidded him and hurt him. Orlando wasn’t only shy and afraid but he was very active and this activity has cost him a three-times cracked skull, two broken legs, a broken wrist, a broken finger and toe, broken nose, four broken spondyls and two broken flanks. Wow!

At the age of 16, Orlando decided to be an actor. His first film has the title “Wild”. Two days after ending of drama school, he took the role of Legolas in “The Lord of the Rings”. In this film, he was playing an elf who was going to “Mordor” with eight people to destroy a ring. This movie was very important for his career. After that, he was a Super star. his next film was “The Pirates of the Caribbean” with Johnny Depp. In this movie, Orlando played the Will Turner, a blacksmith with piratical blood. He was wonderful! Other films are “Troy” with Brad Pitt, “Kingdom of Heaven”, “Black Hawk Down”, “The Calium Kid” etc.

In his personal life he is too happy. He is with his girlfriend Kate Bosworth and they are going to be married in September. Orlando doesn’t like talking about his personal life so I don’t know many things about this.

The exterior of Orlando is so beautiful. His height is 1.83, he has got dark brown hair, brown eyes, he is 28 years old and he is Capricorn in the sign of the zodiac.

Orlando Bloom for me is a wonderful man and a very prosperous actor. I love him and I will love him for ever!

The writer lives on the twentieth floor of a hide-rise building and he always locks his door in the evening. When he woke up this morning, he was shocked because he discovered that his gold pen and his mobile phone were missing. The writer couldn’t understand why the burglar hadn’t taken anything else more important and more expensive like money. Then he went into the kitchen. The writer was surprising because he had left a box of corn flakes on the table and when he woke up, he found the box of corn flakes on the floor, which was lying down and it was opened and half-empty. He thought that the burglar after taking the pen and the mobile phone, he must have gone to the kitchen to eat something. While he was eating, he must have heard a noise, so he must have dropped the box and he must have left in a hurry.

Finally, the writer discovered that his cat, Basil, had come into the kitchen and it had taken the gold pen and the mobile phone to play. It had all been Basil’s fault!

Last summer, my favourite football team Olympiakos, was playing with Panathinaikos. That time, Panathinaikos was first in the score and Olympiakos was second in the score. It was the last match of that year and if someone, between these two teams, was over, it would have taken the championship. Olympiakos had to win, because it was second at the score, otherwise Panathinaikos would have taken the championship. If Olympiakos won, he would take the seventh continuous championship. The fans of Olympiakos were looking forward to the start of the match and Olympiakos to take the championship. It was the time to start the match. The stadium was full of Olympiakos’s fans who wanted Olympiakos to win, to take the championship. The match started and Olympiakos scored three times(3-0). When the match finished, the fans of Olympiakos were very happy.

I had seen this match from TV. I was very excited too when Olympiakos took the championship. It was the seventh continuous championship for Olympiakos. It was the best day of my life.

My favourite relative is my cousin(who is my godmother too) Mary. She’s thirteen years older than me and she’s a very nice person.

Mary is tall and slim with long straight fair hair and brown eyes. She’s beautiful and she always wears fashionable clothes. When we go out together, everybody looks at her and I’m proud that I am with her.

Mary is generous because she gives me her clothes, which she doesn’t want and because she loves me very much. She’s also understanding because she helps me when I have a problem.

The only thing I don’t like about her is her passion for cleanliness. She washes her hands twenty times a day and she disinfects everything with Klinex.

This is my cousin, and I love her very very much, even if she has this irritating passion.

Marianthi Ekaterini

My favourite relative is my dad. He is thirty-seven years old. He is good-looking. His name is Andreas.

Dad is tall with black hair and eyes. He is quite tall. He wears trousers and shirts. He likes to drive motorbikes and cars. He’s a mechanic. He fixes cars. His favourite sport is football. He plays football well. He also likes pop and classical music.

He is a very confident person. He thinks that good things will happen in the future. He is optimistic and he hates people who are pessimistic. Also he is generous. He loves me and he gives me everything I want, but this doesn’t mean that I am a spoilt child. Another positive characteristic of my father is that he is bright and tactful. He is kind and understanding. He isn’t shy and he hates men who are shy.

Of course all people aren’t perfect. We all have imperfections. My father has a very small imperfection. He’s stubborn. He gets everything he wants and he sometimes gets on my nerves. I try many times to tell him something but he doesn’t pay attention to my words.

I love my dad very much and I love his tiny imperfection as well. I believe that this makes him a good father and a good person. I will love him all my life.

Debbie Koretta

My favourite friend is Elli Bendi. I’ve known her about two years and she is by far the best friend I have ever had.

Elli is fourteen years old and she is also very good-looking. She is tall and thin with long straight brown hair and brown eyes. She usually wears jeans and blouses.

Elli is not only a friend but also a “sister”. She is a very kind, gentle and optimistic person. She feels that everything will be fine in the future. She is never nervous about anything. She is also very understanding and always helps me and Evi with our problems. She helps us to sort out our problems. And sometimes she helps me with my homework.

The only thing I don’t like about her is that she is stubborn. She won’t do anything if it becomes too boring. This gets on my nerves sometimes. But we can solve it if I talk to her about it.

My best day was 2 days ago. On Friday I went to school but our teachers took us to an excursion. I had a good time. I played football, basketball and volleyball. Then, I went home and my mother had cooked my favourite food: spaghetti with meat and omelet with potatoes. Then I went to the English school and we wrote a vocabulary test and I got 100% and in a grammar test I got 99%. Then I went to the French school. We wrote a spelling test and I got 19/20 and a simple test 20/20. Then, on my way home I found 10 euro and I took it. In the afternoon I played football and I scored 3 times. Then I played basketball and our team won. I gave my team the championship. At night my parents let me watch a film on TV, “The Friends” and I played playstation.

This was the best day of my life!

Some people say that our parents are our friends because we can trust them and they can help us.

Sometimes our parents can protect us from bad people or help us with our lessons. If we aren’t very good students they can encourage us and they can tell us to try harder for better marks. Or if we gave a problem with our friends or something else they can advise us. They always warn us to be careful of bad things, for ourselves and our health.

On the other hand, sometimes they get on our nerves because they think we are telling them lies. For example, if we tell them we have no homework, they don’t trust us. Of course if we always tell lies, they won’t trust us. They disapprove of our going out or listening to loud music. They want us to be intelligent. If we get a low mark, they shout. As you know, we are adolescents and we want to join in. They must remember they were young once!

Finally, I think our parents want the best for us. They love us more than anyone else in the world and I love them very much(but sometimes they are irritating).

My favourite person is Cleopatra but we also call her Cleo. She is a nice girl and she is my best friend. She is 13 years old and we are classmates too.

Cleo is a tall, good-looking and bright girl. She wears modern clothes and she always wants to be in-style. She has got short, brown, curly hair and green eyes. She isn’t fat and she always wears trousers, jeans and skirts. She always has fun and she usually is perfect at everything.

She is a very good girl with a good-heart and she is always optimistic. She loves dangerous things and she is never afraid of anyone. She loves skiing and running. She loves sweets too. She is open-minded and she always advises me about my problems. We solve our problems together. She loves the sea and animals and we are always together. When we are with other friends, we have a lot of fun. We usually write in our books or on our desks that we will be the best friends for ever and ever until death.

She hasn’t got anything bad in her character and she will be my best friend for ever. I love her very much!

The best day of my life was a year ago in Samos. I am an endurance athlete.

We went there for the races. We were all having a good time. We were all in the room waiting for our coach to tell us the time we were going to run. I was running at 8.20 in the evening. She told us that we must go and sleep early because we shouldn’t be tired. We didn’t listen to her and we went to bed at two o’clock in the morning.

We woke up at eight o’clock in the morning but we were sleepy. We went to the stadium and saw the races. At two o’clock the bus came and took us to the hotel for lunch. I ate chicken and I went to my room to sleep and at 5 o’clock I woke up and put on my clothes because the bus was leaving the hotel at six o’clock.

I went to the stadium to warm up for my race. It was very cold and I was wearing sorts and a T-shirt. It was time for my race and we started running. There were two girls in front of me after the first circuit. In the second circuit there was only one girl. I said to myself: “You can do better Sotiria” so I ran faster in the last hundred metres and I was in front of the girl. I finished first and all of the children came to me and told me that I was very good.

I was very happy with myself and they announced my name and they said I was the winner and that I had broken a record. My coach was happy for me. So I was the winner.

  Dear Sir or Madam,

I saw the advertisement about the lessons and I am interested in them. Could you give me some details about your lessons? I like the guitar very much and I would like to learn it.

I would like some details about the hours. How many hours of lessons are there a week?

Could you tell me if I have to bring my own guitar? If I don’t have one, will you have one there?

I would like to learn how much the course costs. Is it very expensive for students?

Thank you in advance for your help and I look forward to receiving a reply as soon as possible!

                                                                                                   Yours faithfully,

  Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing with regard to your advertisement in yesterday’s newspaper for the summer school of music. I am interested in the lessons for beginners.

Firstly, I wonder if you could tell me how many hours of lessons there are a week and if they are in the morning or in the afternoon.

I am interested in guitar lessons but I haven’t got a guitar. Must I buy a new one or can I get one from you?

I’ll be grateful if you could inform me about the cost of the course.

Thank you for your help. I look forward to your reply.

                                                                     Yours faithfully,

                                                                       Helen Samuri

It was Friday. I woke with a terrible headache, but I had to go to the swimming pool and then to school. I took an aspirin, I got myself ready and started walking to the swimming pool. Suddenly, while I was walking a dog, a dog appeared out of nowhere and bit me. I was running as fast as I could. At the end I arrived at the pool. The coach saw the bite and told me it wasn’t anything serious. I jumped into the water and I froze! I asked why the water was so cold and my coach told me there was a problem and that they couldn’t do anything about it. After that I went to school and then back home. But the headache hadn’t stopped yet. I was trying to think positively, I was saying to myself: “OK, you are going to get out in the afternoon”. I was preparing all day but it rained. The rain stopped and I went out. When we were walking I slipped into some water and fell with a noisy splash!! I went back home and of course I was sick.

That was the worst day of my life!

Relationships between parents and children are weird. Parents have to help their children with their homework when the children are at a small age or when they have problems in their lives. Parents have also to take care of their children and protect them from life’s dangers.

Parents shouldn’t do certain things like: they mustn’t hit their children if they don’t understand something. They mustn’t shout at them because they have the music too loud or they don’t have their room clean. They also mustn’t shout because of bad marks and forget about their own childhood.

I think that parents should take care of their children and advise them and that they mustn’t shout at them for no reason!!

Angela Saliari

  Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m writing with regard to your advertisement which I saw last Monday in “7 days TV”. I am interested  in having lessons at your school and I want to ask you a few things.

Firstly, I would be grateful if you could tell me how many hours of lessons there are a week.

I would like to get more details about concerts which are held twice a week. Would I have to bring my own guitar?

Finally, could you let me know the total cost of the course?

Thank you in advance for your help. I’m waiting for a reply as soon as possible.

                                                                                       Yours faithfully

Our parents are our best friends, but it looks as if they are our worst enemies. They care about us and they want to protect and help us. Though, they don’t understand that we’re adolescents and they must let us do everything we want(if it is possible and not excessive).

Another issue is why do our parents shout at us. The answer is for our own good. Yes, but shouting and fighting isn’t good. So they shouldn’t tell us what they want us to do. For example, they shout at us to turn down the volume of music but they don’t understand that in this way we have fun. They mustn’t shout at us too, about our marks because as I said we are still children. We are in our teens.

The conclusion is that sometimes parents do things which we don’t like and children do things which they don’t like. We must listen to our parents because a lot of what they say is important.

My favourite friend is Angy. She is fourteen years old, just like me. Everybody agrees that she is a really good person.

Angy is tall with long, black hair and she has brown eyes. She is very smart and has her own style. She usually wears trousers and colourful blouses. Her favourite colour is light blue.

Angy is kind, friendly and has a good sense of humour. She is quiet and never shouts during arguments with other people. First, she discusses your problem and in the end she gives a good solution. She likes taking up new hobbies and new interests, which have action. Her favourite hobby is drawing. She usually listens to pop music.

The only thing I don’t like about Angy is her stubbornness in some topics when she doesn’t agree with you. But that is OK because in all other things she is perfect!

Julie Nikta

  Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing with regard to your advertisement, which appeared in this month’s Teens magazine. I play the guitar as my hobby and I am thirteen years old. I know a little bit about the guitar and I want to take part in your course.

I would be grateful if you could send me more information about how many hours of lessons there are a week and about the dates.

Also, could you tell me if we have to bring our own guitar or will you have one for us?

Could you let me know how much the course costs?

Thank you in advance for your help. I am waiting for your reply as soon as possible.

                                                                                               Yours faithfully,

Parents sometimes are our best friends and other times they aren’t our best friends. There are some things which help parents and children have a good relationship. If we do them, all will be OK.

Parents must understand us and our age. They must advise us about many things. They must protect us in proper ways.

Now parents mustn’t judge us by their experience because times change over time. They mustn’t disapprove of our clothes, our music, our friends and other important issues we have. They mustn’t press us with our homework. If we want to study, we will do it without their pressure.

There should be understanding between parents and children. Parents must think back to their childhood and what they were like when they were young.

The best day of my life was a sunny day. We didn’t have school because we went on an excursion to Emporios.

When we arrived, we looked at the place. After that, we sat in the cafeterias, which were near the sea. In the middle of the day we had a swim at the popular “black pebbles beach”. Later, all my friends and I sunbathed. Then we sat in a tavern and had a very good meal. We had a rest and then we continued. We played volleyball, basketball and tennis. It was very interesting. Suddenly I heard all my best friends calling me to go to a tavern. When I went, I saw a very big cake with “Happy Birthday Julie, with love from your friends” on it. Yes, it was my birthday! I was very excited and very-very surprised! It was the first time I had received so many “Happy Birthdays”… After that, our teachers told us that we had to go. Nobody wanted to leave, because we were having a good time. But the day hadn’t finished yet… In the evening my friends and I went to the cinema. We saw the “Coyete Ugly”. It was a comedy. We had a very good time there!

So, it was the best day of my life from beginning to end. I had had a very good time. Not only myself, but also my friends.

John Karpouzlis

My favourite person is my coach John Kavouras. I’ve known him since I was only 5 years old and he is the best coach.

He is young and good-looking. He isn’t too tall, he has brown eyes and hair. He always wears sport clothes and shoes. He is very good at his work and he helps me with other problems. He usually joins us in sports and he enjoys that.

But he usually shouts when we don’t do the exercises right. But it doesn’t matter; we continue the exercises more willingly.

It was a cold night. I brought my dog into the house because he was freezing. When I went to sleep my dog had already slept on the floor.

I was woken up by a loud scream. I had forgotten that my dog was in the house. I thought that a burglar was inside the house and I was scared. I turned the light on and I saw a vase and some plates that had been broken. I turned around and saw my dog with a piece of pizza in his mouth. I laughed looking at my dog. We slept together all night.

Things weren’t as bad as I had thought after all.

When I was five years old, my mother and my father decided to go to the forest to have a picnic and to spend the night in a tent. My mother had made a lot of food and my father had made our suitcase.

Suddenly my mother turned and said “I have forgotten something in the house. I will go back to get it”. She took my father’s car. When my mother started the car, I was standing in front of the car. My mother hadn’t seen me and suddenly I was under the car. My mother stopped and started to scream and cry out: “I killed my child”! Suddenly I woke up and I said “Hi mum”!

Camping was a bad dream. It was fun and we were all very happy. I think things weren’t as bad as I had thought after all.

Debbie Piriki

Last weekend me and my family went on a picnic in the countryside. While we were eating, we heard a noise behind the bushes. I was very scared. My father told me not to be scared and I trusted him. The noise became louder and louder. My father went to the bushes to see what was there. We got up and ran to the car. Behind the bushes there was a dog, which was looking for food. When I saw it, I was scared and felt better.

Things weren’t as bad as I had thought after all!
